Federated learning privacy incentives: Reverse auctions and negotiations

چکیده
Abstract The incentive mechanism of federated learning has been a hot topic, but little research done on the compensation privacy loss. To this end, study uses Local SGD federal framework and gives theoretical analysis under use differential protection. Based analysis, multi‐attribute reverse auction model is proposed to be used for user selection as well payment calculation participation in learning. mixture economic non‐economic attributes making choices users transformed into an optimisation equation solve choice problem. In addition, post‐auction negotiation that Rubinstein bargaining equations describe process theoretically demonstrate improvement social welfare proposed. experimental part, authors find their algorithm improves both accuracy F1‐score values relative comparison algorithms varying degrees.

Auctions Versus Negotiations Revisited∗
Auctions are compared with different forms of negotiation and bargaining. The value of an extra customer is shown to exceed the value of being able to ration supply, if the seller is otherwise unconstrained. Thus, we generalize and provide a simple proof of a result due to Bulow and Klemperer (1996), in which auctions and negotiations are compared. We also compare auctions and seller-offer barg...
متن کاملReverse Auctions with Multiple Reinforcement Learning Agents
Reverse auctions in Business-to-Business (B2B) exchanges provide numerous benefits to participants. Arguably the most notable benefit is that of lowered prices driven by increased competition in such auctions. The competition between sellers in reverse auctions has been analyzed using a game-theoretic framework and equilibria have been established for several scenarios. One finding of note is t...
متن کاملPrivacy Negotiations with P3P
This paper examines how negotiation techniques can resolve the trade-off between service providers’ personalization efforts and users’ individual privacy concerns and demonstrates how they can be integrated into existing technologies to overcome the shortcomings of static privacy policies. The analysis includes the identification of relevant and negotiable privacy dimensions. An extension to P3...
متن کاملA Comparison of Auctions and Multilateral Negotiations
We compare the well-known first-price auction with a common but previously unexamined exchange process that we term “multilateral negotiations.” In multilateral negotiations, a buyer solicits price offers for a homogeneous product from sellers with heterogeneous costs, and then plays the sellers off one another to obtain additional price concessions. Using experimental methods, we find that tra...
متن کاملThe Case of Auctions Versus Negotiations
Wedocument how starting prices differentially impact outcomes in negotiations and auctions. In negotiations (where the number of actors is often predetermined), starting prices drive cognitive processes, leading individuals to selectively focus on information consistent with, and make valuations similar to, the starting value. Thus, starting high will often lead to ending high in negotiations. ...
